Due to the incredible response, we have opened up a second embroidery retreat weekend in Boulder, Colorado! This intensive 3 day workshop organized by The Makerie will be held in two incredible spaces: Fabricate and Colorado Chautauqua. Fabricate is a darling local sewing boutique and the Colorado Chautauqua is the magical spot in the middle of the mountains. Day One will be held at Fabricate and the beautiful and peaceful Colorado Chautauqua will be our cozy home for Days Two and Three.

A lovely locally made lunch and warm tea and snacks will be included for each workshop day. We will thoroughly explore the art of embroidery while learning specialized techniques and how to illustrate with thread. The class size will be an intimate one to allow for ample personal attention.

Join us on September 26, 27 & 28, 2014 for an embroidery immersion weekend!!!

workhsop-spain-1 workhsop-spain-2 workhsop-spain-3 workhsop-spain-4I’ve spent a month and half teaching an embroidery workshop throughout Spain. It was a very inspiring experience. Being a designer is cool, but being a teacher is a gift: I learned a lot, met wonderful girls, made new friends, I was flattered with beautiful gifts, tasted new flavors, discovered wonderful places … and received the affection of dozens of students who I’ll never forget. This experience, which marked my personal and professional life, will accompany me for the rest of my life.

I have to thank first of all María from Contigo in Madrid and David from The Hobby Maker who made it possible. Also Tatiana of The Open Studio 79 in Palma de Mallorca, Lydia of Maow in La Coruña, to Beatriz from Devanalana in Sevilla, Alicia from Duduá in Barcelona, Laia and Alicia of Trikotoki in Bilbao, and Josua and Marilo Mikita Lapena in Valencia. I also wish to thank Duduá and DMC Spain for these threads of colors so beautiful and inspiring!
And to all the girls who trusted and made a huge effort to learn something from me.
